Annette is the great great granddaughter of Henry Gee (Charles1
, Henry2, James3). She was involved in the restoration of the Henry Gee Family Cemetery in Gadsden County, Florida. She is also currently involved in a restoration of the James Gee and Mary Walker Gee Cemetery in Fayetteville, N.C. See the link for more information on the cemetery restoration. As part of an effort to finance these restoration projects Annette had the book The Gee Family , by W.J. Fletcher reprinted twice and both printings have sold out. At this writing (September 8, 2001) Annette is planning to have an additional 50 volumes printed. The Tuttle Publishing Company, Inc. or Rutland Vermont, the original publisher of the book, has also reprinted the volume. For more information click on the link for The Gee Family above.
Annette has transcribed all of John Henry Gee's court martial trial that resulted from his tenure as
prison commandant at Salisbury Confederate Prison in North Carolina. She believes that the trial is the very first is the US to be taken down verbatim. She has published a book entitled The Captive based on this material. Also see John Henry Gee on the GEEnealogy page.
Annette is also gathering material to update the Fletcher book. Anyone who
can trace their lineage to Charles and Hannah Gee are encouraged to submit
lineage information, family history, etc. to Annette for inclusion in the finished
work. If Annette can gather enough information she intends to publish the update.

Bobby traces his line (possibly) back to Phillip Gee, who settled near present Chapel Hill in Orange
County, North Carolina in the mid 1700s. He can reliably trace his lineage back six generations to
Robert Gee b. before 1765; d. 1829 in MO; m. Nancy Hatwood in NC. He has tried to connect his line
with the descendants of Charles and Hannah Gee. Due to a recently discovered record that indicates that
Phillip Gee was the son of Charles1 and Hannah Gee's son Robert, he may have
established that link. He has accumulated information on apparently unrelated Gees in Missouri, Arkansas,
Texas, and Oklahoma.
Bobby is interested in locating other descendants of Robert Gee in order to compare notes and exchange
information. His line settled in Grundy, Callaway, and Macon Counties in Missouri. The children of Robert
Gee and Nancy Hatwood are as follows:
Bobby has developed a web page with extensive descendancy information on
Robert Gee Jr.
Marian and her sister Garnette trace their lineage back to Charles and Hannah Gee. Marian and Garnette have updated the book The Kin of Dr. Ned Gee of Lunenburg County, Virginia by Samuel Edward Gee. They are currently taking pre-publication orders for the new book. Additionally they are working on confirmation of the link between Charles Gee of Sussex who died in 1709 and Thomas Gee of Boston as well as trying to find proof that Charles Gee who married Sarah (Sally) Wilson was the son of James Gee, son of Charles and Bridget Gee, instead of Neavil Gee as indicated by
Fletcher.
Jemima Gee Morse traces her line to Charles and Hannah Gee from research done by her first cousin, Rex Lynn Hale. Her forebear, James, m. Lucy Bugg and settled along the Cumberland River in Kentucky abt. 1800. She is researching several allied family lines, including "Sack" as a possible surname in Lucy Bugg's Pennington line. Her Gee line of descent is as follows:

Bob is the great, great, great, grandson of Anderson Gee who was born 1794 in
Va. Bob has researched the link between the Anderson Gee line and the Charles and Hannah line. She his research results on Robert Gee, fourth son of Charles and Hannah. Following is Bob's known data on Anderson Gee:
Anderson's mother was Sally Seaman, daughter of John Seaman Sr., who moved to Halifax
County, Va. in the late 1780's from Berkeley County, Va. (now W.V.). Anderson had a
brother named Charles and his father was Charles Gee the only Gee listed in the 1800 Halifax Co. Tax List. Anderson md. (1) Eliz. Torian on 1-31-1823 in Halifax Co. & (2) Martha Guthrie on 7-4-1842 in Christian Co. Ky. He was in Christian Co. by 1833 and was father to 11 children. Several of his children moved to Graves Co. Ky.
Debra traces her lineage back to Charles and Hannah Gee through Charles and Bridget Gee
whose son William Gee married Tabitha Ingram. Their daughter Martha (Patsy) Gee married
William Porter who is Debra's great great great great grandfather.
The link between the Gee family and the Porter family is an area of interest for Debra as
she is collecting research to publish on the Porter family. Of particular interest to Debra
is the fact that three of William and Tabitha's children married children of Joseph and Elizabeth
Porter of Madison County, VA. These three Gee's are known but according to information discovered
by Debra, a Hannah Gee married a child of Joseph and Elizabeth. The ancestry of this Hannah Gee
is unknown.
Deb traces her lineage back to Charles and Hannah Gee through her grandfather Andrew Pleausant Gee.
Part of Deb's lineage can be found in the book A Family Chronicle of S. Bradford Rymer.
She maintains a web page with a large searchable database on her family tree at:

Sarah Jane Kersey on Aug. 11, 1868 in Greenwood (Sebastian County), AR, died June 22, 1884 and is
buried in the Center Valley Cemetery, Ft. Smith, AR. Children of Laurel and Sarah are as follows:
Laurel's father was born in Virginia but Peg has not been able to find his name. She is looking for
any information on the ancestry of Laurel Gee. Peg has Gee relatives in another branch of her family

They had 9 living children: Mary, Hattie, George, Margaret, Wilbur, Milton, Elmer, Harry, and Alfred.
Marie's children descend through Mary GEE who married Daniel J. ROACH.
John's interest in the Gee family is through the marriage of his great great great great grandfather
William PARTINGTON to Martha (Matty) GEE in Prestwich (North Manchester), England on 11 April, 1803.
Martha GEE (bapt. 26 March, 1786, Ringley?) was the second child of Thomas GEE and Sally SANDFORD.
Thomas GEE was born circa 5 April, 1751 in the Ringly area, North Manchester.

Judy is descended from William and Mary Ann Markham Gee who immigrated from England to London, Ontario, Canada in 1847. She has built a database with members of this family and she has recently published a book on this branch of the Gee family.
The book "Gee Family Genealogy" includes at least ten generations of Gee's starting with Daniel and Eleanor Robinson Gee of Sawston, Cambridgeshire, England in 1720. It follows Grandsons, Jeremiah and William Gee to Canada in 1847 then traces the families of Jeremiah in Canada and William in the United States to present date. The entire passenger list of the "Ship Westminster" is provided for those who are searching for other connections to this branch Gee family. This is the ship on which William and Mary made the Atlantic crossing in 1847.
A family group sheet is provided for each family member from Daniel to the present generation. Each family section contains maps, histories of villages and towns in which that family resided, wills, deeds, family stories, pictures old and new and original poetry.
Each family is divided by a colored pedigree chart showing that families relationship to the original Daniel Gee from England. In some families this will only go back to Jeremiah or William due to the number of generations.
The Gee Family Story is presented as passed down for many generations. Facts presented in the book, dispute much of the information and will show this is just a story. The story was added to the book because to
many this is the family history and in many ways it does contain some factual information. There are other stories told by family members about parents, aunts, uncles, etc., as they remember their family member. The author had the pleasure of sitting down with many of these family matriarchs (75-89) and recording them telling stories of family members as they remember them.
The "Gee Family Genealogy" as of May 25, 1998 contained 3,063 individuals and 1,100 families. It is 500+ pages, spiral bound with a clear plastic front and back cover. The finished product went to the printer on June 18, 1998. The cost is $45.00. Contact Judy for ordering information.
Judy also maintains a web site with information on her Gee family lineage and connected families at:
In addition to the web side Judy maintains several Roots Web Gen Connect boards including Gee, Wallis, Fifield, Demaray/Demarest, Harkness, Layton/Leighton, Ida County Iowa, Aitkin County Minnesota, and Pipestone County Minnesota. She also is Coordinator and Webmaster of Roots Web Mail lists for all the names listed above. To subscribe to any of these lists go to Judy's web page.
