One James GEE is listed on the 1830 MO census index, yet his surname appears to
be LEE on actual microfilmed records. There are several other LEE families nearby.
In addition, James GEE does not appear on the 1840 MO census index. Nor do any
unidentified Gee's (old enough to be James' children) appear in those counties
later formed from Ray, including Carroll (1833), Caldwell (1836), Daviess (1836),
Livingston (1837), Grundy (1841), Harrison (1845) and Mercer (1845).

so it is likely that Elizabeth was Thomas' widow. However, the date and place of her
birth conflict with earlier census records.

records show that one John GEE sued the estate of Thomas GEE, claiming that he had
attended Thomas during his "last sickness"; John was awarded $800 -- $100 for each
year he lived there. Some researchers list this John as a son of Thomas; however,
his date of birth conflicts with census reconstruction of this family. Issue:

age was not recorded in either the GEE or WARE household in 1840.

These marriages may be related. It is possible that the woman who married
David WILSON was Susan (nee SANDERS), as Susan GEE has not been located on
the 1850 census of Livingston or neighboring counties. There was a William
GEE in neighboring Grundy County, who was an apparent widower in 1850. However,
it is believed that he died in 1855 in Pope Co., AR. Could he have deserted or
divorced Susan SANDERS before leaving the state? David WILSON does not appear
on the 1860 MO census index.

Emily GEE was enumerated in the household of John LUCAS in 1870. In his will
dated 3 Aug 1872, John LUCAS mentions his wife Polly and daughter Armilda S. GEE;
however, Armilda has not been located in MO census records. One Riley GEE md.
Elizabeth LUCAS in Macon County in 1849, but they have not been located either.
A headstone for one Armilda LUCAS (1814-1881) can be found in Mt. Salem Cemetery,
Macon Co., MO.
