2002 Gee Family Queries

I am looking for details of the Gee family (my wife's family)living in the area of Sleaford, Lincolnshire before the 1970's. I need to go backwards from William Arthur Gee married to Dorothy (Dingle) Repton at 50a London Road, Sleaford. Also related in some way or another are Slater, Repton, Scott, Dodson, Buttler (little known before this generation), Rickwood, May. I can offer some info in return.

I am looking for any information on George L. Gee (or Ghee), born in Virginia in 1817. I would really like to find out any information on who his father and mother were so that I may go back further in the family line. I do know that he later moved to Tennessee. He married Sarah Jane Rash on December 8, 1836 in Williamson Co. TN

Searching for parents and other information on John Gee born abt 1808 VA. His father/grandfather? may have been named John also as one is shown on the 1790 census in Union Co. He married Emma/Ann Woolbright probbly in Union Co. SC.I beleave he also died in Union Co.SC.

My grandfather Avey had a sister named Mabel Mary Sophia Avey that married Charles Frederick Pettett Gee on April 8th, 1912 in St. Pauls Church, Camden Square, London. Charles' Father was John Gee, and Mother Jane Barton. Do you have any more information on children, dates of birth, death, marriages,and migration? Would also be interested in the origin of the names Gee and Barton - meanings and nationality roots. In 1912, Charles was a Police Officer in London.

EASON GEE to Texas 1835......There are a couple of Eason Gees on Ancestery.com but I can't be sure they are the Eason Gee I'm researching. These Eason Gees are noted as having a wife by the name of Jane Byars and the Texas Eason Gee's wife is named Jane Strickland Gee. This is documented. What I am thinking is possibly Jane Byars married a Strickland then Eason Gee. What I know about the Texas Eason Gee and Jane ? is that they came to TX in 1835, they had 3 sons, Andrew J.(born 1831), Joseph S. (born 1833) and William T. (born 1835), all born in AL. Eason Gee fought for Texas Independence against Mexico and died Aug 8, 1836. Jane married John Henry Randolph Sept.13, 1840 in Nacogdoches Co., TX. I have a few more details on the Gees and will be happy to share with anyone with info that might be of the same line or that will help determine the wife of my Eason Gee. Any clue will be appreciated.

Charles Frederick Pettett Gee married one of my Grandfather's sisters, Mabel Mary Sophia Avey. The marriage certificate states that the Groom's Father was John Gee (deceased) who had the occupation of Engine Driver. The Marriage took place on April 8th, 1912 at St. Paul's Church, Camden Square in the Parish of London, England. Charles Frederick was age 28, worked as a Police Officer and lived at 36 St. Johns Wook Terrace, St. Johns Wook. The marriage was witnessed by Abraham Isaiah Gee and Charles William Griggs. I would love to know who this Gee family was - how many siblings Charles had, and where his ancestors came from. Thank you for any help you can give.

I am looking for an Mary Viola Gee. She was born in 1877. She married Sylvester Moore. I believe they were living in Gilson, Knox County, Illinois. My grandfather, Frank Gee, came from the Carolinas to Wa state early 1900's. Children are: Frank Jr., William L., Vernon, glen, Pauline, and Pug Gee. I am searching for information on Afro-American Gees from Virginia. My great great grandmother Francis Gee came from Virginia, supposedly Dinwiddie County,Virginia. She came to Texas after the end of the Civil War with her uncles Paul and Squire Gee. She was born October 17,1876. Her parents were Millie Gee and Osban Wingfield or Winfield. Paul was born about 1853 and Squire was born about 1855. Millie, Paul, Squire and Osban were said to be ex-slaves. Supposedly they lived on a Gee family farm or plantation. It is told that these persons would not talk about their past only to reveal where they were from. Does anyone know of a Gee family farm or plantation in or near Dinwiddie County, Virginia or have any information on the Gees listed here? I have received information about a book that gives information about the Gees from Virginia. Is there a book and where I can purchase it? Any help will be appreciated.

Does the Gee family tree have an Irish connection as I believe the Gees on my father's side come from Ireland and were called Mcgee.

Marriage to Sarah abt.1796. Do not have birth or death date for Sarah. believe her father and mother were Henry Gee? and Rachel ______? Children are Sarah, Charles, William, Abner, Ambrose. My line is through Charles who married Elizabeth Dewitt. Henry had a previous marriage to Elizabeth Allen. Children of this marriage were Wiley, Rhoda, Allen,Henry, and Frances. Henry listed in 1790 census in Chatham County, NC. Respond if linked.

Looking for info on my g-g-grandma, Julia Frances Elmore, she married Wiley T. Johnson, I don't know the year. We think Wiley was b. abt. 1819 in Tenn. What we have on Julia b. abt. 1820 in either Va or Carolina. Hope you have some info and are willing to share. In 1850 they were in Breckinridge Co. Ky and finally settled in Ohio Co., Ky. First b. was John T. and 6-7 more.

I'm looking for the mother and grandparents of John Henry Gee, b. 3 April 1842 in Arkansas, d. 13 April 1912 in Kennett, Dunklin Co. MO. His first wife was Fanny Shipley, dau. of Hugh Shipley. Their Children: Rosie (Sherrill), Matilda (Pool), John Jr., William Andrew "Andy". After Fanny died, John married widow Mary J.(Russell) Haggard and lived in Missouri. John's father was Aaron Gee b. in Arkansas. If anyone knows any information about John and family, I would appreciate hearing from you.
