Balaam Hicks married: Miedy Wallace, Person Co. NC in 1815. There is a Balaam Hicks married: Elizabeth Gee in 1833. I am sure one of these if not both are direct ancestors. My Balaam Hicks had a Joseph. They lived in several states. Sure would like to know more about these folks.

I am looking for information on Sarah GEE born about 1738 in Lunenburg, VA. You have as the child of James Gee. Is she the wife of William Taylor BARRY who died in Lunenburg in 1794?

My g-g-g grandmother was Mary Polly Gee who married George G. Martin in Greenup County Kentucky in 1839. I have the original journal of George G. written in the 1830s and 1840s. In this journal, he lists his children, their birthdates, as well as his own, Nov. 9, 1815 as well as poems, receipts, etc. I believe Mary "Polly" was the daughter of Robert Gee and Elizabeth Walters. I would be glad to share info. that would beneficial to you.

My husband's grandmother was Irene Gee b. in Roanoke County, VA about 1907. Her parents were Thomas Oliver Gee and Sarah Elizabeth Meador who were married in Roanoke about 1906. He was born in Halifax County VA and his parents were O. L and S. M. Gee (from Thomas's Marriage License). I have been unable to find any other information from these counties. The only other piece of the puzzle is that Irene was living with her uncle Willie Gee in Roanoke in 1920 with her older brother Raymond. The census stated that Willie was born in New York. I am really confused. Do any of these names ring a bell?

I am trying to research the our famil history and have found a lot of Gee ancestors. However, I can find no link to my family. My great great grandparents were Edwin and Rachel (Thrailkill) Gee. Edwin was born on May 20, 1843 and died on July 2, 1903 and is buried at the Kingfisher Cemetary, Kingfisher, OK. He married Rachel on October 27, 1867 in Andrew, MO. I have all the information on Rachel, but can find no links with Edwin. Edwin and Rachel had 9 children; Sterling, Robert (d.1899), Thomas Jefferson, Amanda, Frank, Rolo??, Magnolia, Sybil, and Emmett. Thomas Jefferson was my great grandfather and he married Etta Grace Choate. My grandmother seems to remember that Edwin's mother may have been Lucy Winn/Wynne. She is not positive about that. If anyone has any information please let me know. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank You

I am trying to trace the Gee family who originated in the Wigan area (UK). One factor which may be useful to work out if it is the right line is that a distant relative (I think its my great, great, great, great grandfather) was Russian with a surname beginning with the letter G (hence when he moved to the UK he adopted the surname of Gee cos no-one could pronounce his Russian surname - at least that's the information I have been given).

On my fathers side there is a particular descendancy line which contains a lot of "Ellis Gee"s and a distant relative formed the "Gee of Wigan" chain of stores. My grandfather was Matthias Gee who married Gladys Floyd who lived in the Tettenhall area and the moved near Blackpool, Lancashire.

Any information from any source would be useful, particularly in the Russian element as I have been drawing blanks on this area for a long time.

Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am trying to trace my family tree and I am doing fine on my mothers side of the family but I am a little lost on my fathers side. My fathers name was Arthur James Gee (born 3/6/1926) and he had three sons I am the youngest of the family and I have two older brothers, James Arthur Gee and lastly our older brother Andrew Stephen Gee. My father and oldest brother unfortunately died leaving my brother James, his child Emily and myself to follow on the family name. All I know about other relatives is my Grandma's maiden name was Eva Lakin and Grandfathers name was Albert Gee. They lived in Shepshed (Leicstershire). Then moved to Blidworth (Nottighamshire). Thats all Iknow apart from my Grandma is a descendant from the name Dunne in Kilkenny. Any help would be great and maybe I can find out where I come from it would be nice to now that I've got more family out there somewhere.

I am looking for information on Will Gee who left Gallia County, Ohio (Gallipolis) near the beginning of World War I. He is said to have left with his mother and sisters. Supossedly he went to Cleveland, Ohio. Gee was the grandson of John Gee and the son of Lloyd Gee. My father was the son of Will Gee. Will Gee was valedictorian of his class at Lincoln School in Gallipoli,s Ohio. Will later graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Will returned to Gallipolis after graduating college and taught for a few years. Will then became a mail carrier because he earned more money. He was mail carrier until he left Gallipolis. I am looking for any information about Will Gee or any of his sisters after they reached Cleveland. These Gees could easily be identified as white and not colored.

My mother has been searching for information on our line for years, with little success. The Internet has opened a lot of doors for her, and I am curious myself. My grandfather is Lee D. Gee Sr./his father was Samuel Burdette Gee. They are from the NY/PA line of Gees. If anyone has information, please Email it to me, or send a link where we may find information.Thank You!

Seeking information on Black American Gees possibly from Virginia ( Dinwiddie County). I am looking for these persons-Squire Gee, Paul Gee, Francis Gee, Millie Gee, and Osban Wingfield ( or Winfield). Francis Gee was my great grandmother. Millie Gee and Osban Wingfield were her parents. Squire and Paul Gee were her uncles. I have two conflicting birth dates for Francis, April 11, 1866 and 1869.It has been said that these people were ex-slaves. Francis, Paul, Squire and a number of other relatives came to Texas after the Civil War. They settled in Mexia, Texas ( Limestone County). Paul Gee was born in1853. Squire Gee was born in 1855. His wife was named Sarah. In 1920 he had a son named Royal. These are listed on the 1920 soundex of Texas. There a listing of a Squire Gee on the 1830 census for Petersburg (Dinwiddie County. Francis was known to use the Gee name as well as Wingfield (her father's name). It has been said that these Gees came from a place called Stoney Creek in Dinwiddie County Virginia. It has been told that they might have lived on the Gee farm plantation in that area . Please help if you have any information on these people or anyone related to these people.

I've found out a great deal since my last query here. Now I am looking for descendants of John Gee (b 1810) and Hannah Green Gee (b1811). John and Hannah moved from England to Division Street in NYC in 1834 and had three children, Eleanor, John Phillip and Hannah. The family later returned to England, but the two girls returned to live in American and settled in Jersey City NJ. The younger Hannah Gee (b 1839) named Hinkle. She had a daughter, Eleanor who married a Decy and the Decy's had a daughter named Ruth Decy. Ruth married a man named Melosh and had at least two sons sometime just before WWI, Richard and Everett Melosh. Ring any bells? I'd love to meet Hannah's descendants. I am descended from John Phillip who returned with his parents to Sidcup, Kent. Thanks!

I am searching for information about Fred Elmore, my maternal grandfather. He married Lucy Cantrell in Bradley County Tennessee about 1900. He was a coal miner and minister who lived at Westbourne, Tennessee until his death sometime in the mid-1940's. They had the following children who lived Rosie, John, Minnie, Claybourne, Ted, Jack, Retha, Lucy. There were several other children who were born and died early including a set of twins, Beulah and Blanche. Although Lucy Cantrell Elmore's family is well documented, Fred Elmore seems to have come out of nowhere. We cannot find birth records or death records. The only record we have is a one line marriage record. My Aunt Retha is the last surviving child of Fred Elmore and she wishes to know more about her father. She is over 80 years old and does not remember Fred Elmore ever talking about his life. If you have any information, I would be most appreciative. Thank you.

My gggg.grandma was ANNE GEE. We believe she is of the CAREW/GEE line of Beddington,Surrey and /or Orpington,Kent, England. My grandfather was given the name Sir Richard Carew Percival, because my g.grandmother had written proof that he was now the heir to the Carew Estate at Beddington. Before she could submit her case, in the 1860s, her solicitor literally dropped dead outside the Law Court in Croydon, Surrey and all her papers went missing.

We have no idea as to whether this heirdom proof is fact or fiction. Interestingly a recently discovered 2nd cousin spoke about the family rumour, without us mentioning it.

ANNE GEE married JOHN CHORKERRID at St.Giles,Cripplegate,London in 1757. She gave birth just two months before the marriage to a son,John and then had another son (William) and a daughter,Anne. It is rumoured that she was just 13 years of age and John Chorkerrid, a groom at the family estate, was 30 years of age. We believe her mother to be Phillipa Gee (nee Carew) who had married Richard Gee (9 years of age, he died 1727), after the death of her first husband John Beaumont. Phillipa died in 1744. We believe she died in childbirth. The birth of our ANNE GEE. But why did she name her second son William?

Has anyone come across a birth of ANNE GEE with these possible parents in the 1730s or 1740s? We have searched most of England. Could there be a record of a birth/baptism in Philladelphia? Where the Carews had Ironworks?

Thank you for anything you can provide. 40 years of research is very tiring!

I am a descendant of John Gee who came to Gallipolis, Ohio ( Gallia County ) around 1815. John Gee was a young man when he came to Gallipolis. He became a prominent man in the community. John Gee donated the land for what became the John Gee AME Church in Gallipolis, Ohio on Pine Street. John was also an excellent carpenter. He died while finishing what became the Priestly home. This was to become his home when he finished it. The home was located just around the corner from the church. My father, born in 1910, was the grandson of John Gee. My father did not take the name of Gee because he was born out of wedlock. All the old poeple over the last forty years have known this. I am trying to find out more about the Gee's prior to coming to Ohio. Any information will be appreciated.
